The Sweet Spot Bakery and Café is a small batch, artisan bakery located in Weare, NH on the border of Goffstown and New Boston. In a world where baked goods are too often massed produced with preservatives and fillers, our mission is to provide old fashioned, homemade baked goods with butter, cream, and local fresh ingredients. The café provides the community with a welcoming place to have breakfast or lunch or just relax in our dining area with a cup of coffee.
Owners Jackie and Jim O’Dowd started the cafe in January 2022 after raising 3 children. Jackie has been baking since she was a young girl with her mother on Long Island inspired by the recipes of New York Times contributor Maida Heatter. Jackie’s Grandmother and Great Grandfather were Jewish with a love of Jewish breads and pastry, handing this love down to their children and grandchildren. Jackie started baking professionally when her children reached high school, honing her skills, and developing many of the recipes that are now featured at The Sweet Spot. She is particularly proud of her challah, brioche and pies. Jim handles the savory soups for lunch and take-away dinners in the freezer case. The Sweet Spot features cakes, pies, pastry, breads, seasonal items and special diet items including gluten-free, flourless, dairy free and vegan offerings.
